Collecting payments from outstation clients

Hello Rodinhooders,

I have started a small web development and digital marketing agency business. I have got my first few clients through personal references. I haven’t registered the business yet, I am working on a freelance basis from my home on part time basis.

The problem is about collecting payments from my clients. The amount is a few thousands rupees (less than 10k) and the clients are based in different cities/states. I don’t want to give each of them my personal bank details as I believe it sounds a bit unprofessional. Ideal solution would be setting up a merchant account with a payment gateway and allowing clients to pay online directly. After discussing with major payments gateway companies, I learnt that you need to register a business to have a merchant account with them.

The best option seemed to be Instamojo- which allows you to create custom payment links for receiving online payments from clients/customers. But, I came to know from their support team that they don’t support “Web Designing Services” as of now.

Can anyone suggest any effective ideas for collecting payments from outstation clients online? Anybody knows a payment gateway which provides account to non-registered businesses or freelancers? Please do help me out.
