Debit Credit Invoice Reminder – Helping SMEs Get Paid on Time

Hi All,

A Happy New Year to everyone here, I’d like to introduce my new product Debit Credit Invoice Reminder to everyone.

What is Debit Credit Reminder (DrCr)

Debit Credit Invoice Reminder is a mobile app to solve one of the biggest pain point for SME’s.

How to get Paid on time to run my business effectively.

An SME/SMB in India runs on Debit and Credit or so called Udhar. We are group of engineers and businessmen trying to solve this problem by removing the friction of calling or reminding someone about payment dues, just like your telephone/credit card companies do for pending bills.

Our Story

It all started when my brother who runs a wholesale grain business had challenges in keeping record of his UDHAR. His whole business runs on giving and taking Credit for items purchased; with specific time frame for each clients to repay the money. He used an old school way of keeping records in a diary with dates, every morning he would come and check dues for that day, call those people and either would be successful in getting paid or needed to constantly nudge clients every day.

He reached out to me to find a simple but effective solution for this problem, he wanted 3 things :

  1. A simple way to track all the money in and money out, he didn’t mind entering this information manually.
  2. A way to know which invoices are due every day without putting any efforts.
  3. Automatically reminding clients about pending payments due over SMS/Whatsapp or Email.

In my further research and customer followup I discovered that getting paid on time is the biggest challenge for any Small Business. Everyone has there own way of maintaining records but no streamlined way to handle this niche problem.

What have we made ?

When we started we did a very basic app with functionality of tracking invoices and reminding about invoices due every day to user. It didn’t have any auto reminders feature, no fancy UI, a simple app that worked. We tested the waters and soon discovered the unmet need in the market – the app was growing steadily and people loved it. We validated our hypothesis and found out a very niche problem that very few people were focusing on. We did this validation in 2014 and from then got consistent requests for new features.

Fast Forward 2016: Though late, but we listened to our users and completely re-wrote the app, with great focus on User Experience and Design. Giving unmatched experience with all functionalities that were requested. With this new app :

The Ask

So far we are doing good, the update is live on new year, so far we have 19,000 downloads with 4.2 avg rating by 283 users. We need your help in taking app to next level, here are specific asks if you can help.

The app is completely free on Google Play and we are making money from ads and In App purchase. App works completely offline and all data remains with user.

Thanks
