TheRodinhoods

Don’t wait for Asha!

We had a small mini meetup of Rodinhooders in Delhi yesterday.

It was unplanned and without an agenda with the sole purpose of catching up over drinks and conversations.

Ofcourse it wouldn’t have happened if Asha hadn’t initiated the thought and set a venue and time for the meetup.

It was a small group, unlike our previous meetups and I was able to have a have a great conversation with Sunil and got to learn some fascinating insights about his fresh fruits and vegetables delivery business, Falphool.com . They are focussed in Dwarka and are sustainably growing over time.

While driving back, I was wondering, “Why don’t we have more meetups ?” when I realized we are all waiting for Asha.

As most of you know, she is based in Goa and whenever she travels to Delhi or other places, she tries to get a meetup going in that city. And it usually rocks. Check out the last one here in Hyderabad.

However, we have 100’s of cities in India from where we have Rodinhood members and she possibly can’t arrange a meetup in every city.

So here’s a thought – If you are reading this why don’t you think of organizing a meetup in your city?

Start small – even if a group of 5-6 people show interest, meet at a cafe or a Rodinhooder’s office for an hour or two. It will make for great conversations and you will get a chance to meet interesting rodinhooders from your city and who knows what you might end up collaborating to create.

After all, TheRodinhoods itself started as a small gathering in Alok’s office and it’s 10,700 + strong today.

Don’t wait for Asha – Get started with a meetup in your city and watch the magic unfold 🙂

Here is a simple 5 step process to do it:

1.) Decide on a date and time (preferably on a weekend)
2.) Select a conveniently located venue
3.) Announce it as an event on TheRodinhoods.com
4.) Share among your friends / networks
5.) Meetup and have fun
