How to raise a WORLD CHAMP !

A few weeks back I had posted a blog on how the future is BRIGHT for this country.

This article is inspired provoked by the front page article in the TOI last Sunday on Saina Nehwal – a BRIGHT prospect on the Indian sports front ! And just so that I don’t appear biased I will reproduce pieces of that article, in parts, so that my point of view can be understood.

So what does it take to raise a world champ like the one below ?

THE CROWNING MOMENT: With her Olympic bronze

1. Be ruthless with your kid !

Don’t care about how your kids feels; don’t worry about what their friends feel. Just get your point across without any care for repercussions. That’s what changed Saina’s life course. Read excerpts from TOI dated 11-11-12…

2. Make your kid live your unaccomplished dream ! Mommy know BESTEST !

Your kids dreams be damned ;  you had better push and drive them to live your dream. They owe it to you…that’s why they were brought into this world !!

Page 27, TOI – 11-11-12….

No issues so far…but this part is really amazing……

So cause you spotted your kids talent, nursed them to fuel your ambitions you DO know better than the coaches ! Don’t let the coaches spoil YOUR dream ! And NEVER be satisfied…

3. Isolate your kids from their friends

If you want your kid to be a champ DON’t let them mingle with mere mortals. Isolate them from friends who will cause distraction. Lie to their friends about your kids whereabouts…

You have read many times that you have to be different from normal to be extra-ordinary ! You have read many times you have to pay a price for success …you need to walk those extra steps even if it means insulting your kid in public and crushing their childhood ! Now thanks to the Nehwal family and TOI you know HOW to walk that extra step ! ?

I can’t understand HOW a newspaper that runs the TEACH  India campaign can propagate such thoughts ?

As for Ms Nehwal and family…when your career does taper,  get into the Bigg Boss house ! You will all make for interesting content !

If you are a parent reading this article …STOP….don’t you have a WORLD champ to raise ?
