Happy to see many of you already using our product for various activities like movies, events, parties, travel and more; cheers for being a part of the MyPoolin community! We are constantly looking for ways to improve your experience as a whole and simplify your social life at the same time.
That is why, our tagline as evolved to ‘The place to plan and pay with your friends’. I am happy to share some of the key updates from the past few weeks with all of you!
Firstly, on the partners side, we have added two cool new online partners. One is a SME – OpenWithSmile which basically deals with all kinds of gift cards and vouchers available across the country and other one is of course our very own MakeMyTrip. Both of them now have the option of group-gifting powered by us on their respective websites. That means, that you can basically select gift cards/vouchers directly on their site as well as invite your group of friends or colleagues to collect the money for a combined purchase. Isn’t that cool!
Second news is on our mobile app front. Since we have been empowering a simplified social payment experience for so many people, we noticed along the way that some people also desired a simpler method to do just 1-to-1 transfers. Hence, in our latest update, we have launched P2P mobile transfers using any of your linked wallets. The flow is pretty simple –
- Simply tap on ‘Pay/Request Money’ from your home screen on the Android app.
This would show your linked wallet balance (If you haven’t linked your wallet yet, you can do so on the same page by clicking on Link wallet. We will send an OTP to verify it and your wallet would be linked with the app in a few seconds!)

In the search bar, start typing the name of your contact and the list will show up automatically.
Select the name, enter the amount (and a message (that could even be a code word!)) to pay / request to that person.

And voila! As soon as you hit pay, the money gets transferred to the recipient’s mobile wallet (in this case — Mobikwik wallet) instantly.
If you want to, you can even share the same with your friends in the app (or outside) with the next screen that comes up.

It’s been a while everyone…. Hope you all had an amazing festive season and are geared up for some of the cool new features that we have implemented!
Without further ado, here they are –
- Explore your favorite movies, events and dining deals in a detailed & beautiful view
First up, we’ve added a brand new event explore section in our Android app to allow you to view event details such as Time, Venue, Booking Details and a ‘What’s cool’ section. Check it out! - Missed Call based verification for new signups
For the rare cases where the mobile network misses the SMS delivery for registering your mobile on our application, we have now added a simple and convenient solution. You can now just press on the missed call button on the same screen (where OTP is verified) to activate and register by giving us a free missed call. - Use your favorite emoji while chatting or sending payments
Now you can use emoticons of any kind while chatting with your group of friends in the pool! Also, you can use descriptive emojis like Beer for parties, beach for trips and more! - Add more members seamlessly in your pools on the web
For all the pools on the website, now you can simply add more people by clicking on ‘Edit shares or invite more people’ on the pool tracker page without worrying about the limit of the total amount. Hence, for example, if the initial total amount for the party / event / gift was Rs. 600 and you want to add another person whose share would be Rs. 200, then after you add him simply using 2 clicks, the total amount becomes Rs. 800 automatically.
