PrizeWatch

Sometime in May, I had bought a gift from the DLF Emporia Mall in Delhi. After the purchase, the lady gave me two coupons and told me that I was eligible to enter a lucky draw where the grand prize was a Merc ( E- class and not the sweet one above )

Since I had already spent over 25k I thought, why not go through the additional pain of filling out the form…coz who knows right 🙂

As consumers, we keeping seeing contests (“Like our page and Win an iPad” Anyone 😉 ) everywhere and sometimes take part in them. However, how many times do we find out who won them AND if winners actually got the promised prizes.

What if there was a portal which could keep a track of contests and if the companies had actually declared the winners along with info on the winners. Each contest could have a unique contest id and users could choose to be notified by email or sms when the contest got over.

It could, over a period of time publish a credibility report on companies which actually declare winners and the ones which don’t.

Another service offering could be a hosted Content Management solution (microsite, forms for data collection, promotions, Hold the prizes in Escrow and disburse them at the end of the contest, etc etc)

Just wanted to get some feedback from:

1.) Users: How often do you participate in contests and do you think such a service would be useful (It would be free for your of course)

2.) Entrepreneurs / Marketeers: Would you be interested in using a hosted content management service (and not just for technology), How do you currently run contests and pain points if any…What features might you want ?

Any other feedback will also be welcome (e.g. are you aware if someone is providing such a service etc )

Cheers

P.S: No, I didn’t win the Merc though i occasionally wonder who won it (if anybody at all)

P.P.S: If you are an entrepreneur / wantapreneur based in Gurgaon / Delhi and would be interested in exploring building this further, do get in touch at abhik@experiamedia.com
