Rodinhoods August Open House Meet – It’s all about our Thoughts, Words and Actions

Last Friday (August 31st), saw the perfect mix of entrepreneurial skills and spirituality at the Rodihnoods August Open House event. It was an ambience created by a blend of sheer entrepreneurial energy and tranquillity at the same time. We got to know how to sell the never-before sold concept and how not to sell our own beliefs and egos on others by just focusing on spreading love and harmony in our world. It was a perfect fusion of thoughts and I came back with a few learning’s of my own.

What I learnt at the Friday meet:

How to sell a concept that has never been sold before:

Alok gave us a presentation on how to sell newer concepts in the market. He shared the seven pointers for doing the same – some excerpts out of his presentation that I liked are stated ahead. To sell a new concept we need to sell ourselves first. We need to make a mark on them, so that they remember us during the time of requirements. Also, we have to sell them a level of trust that comes with our name and company. In other words, we need to create certain credibility for the clients to see that we give our best and that we are in the market, not to disturb their events but to help them grow in their respective segments.

Learn, Laugh, Love and Let Go:

The respected forest monk, Nithya Shanti, started his story with the sound of a bell that instantaneously generated peace amongst the gathering. He gave us his side of the story of how he became a monk and what were his motivations for doing so. He shared one beautiful quote by The Dalai Lama that “Nothing has to change for me to be happy” and told us that we do not require others to change for our sake. We can remain happy with our efforts and not at someone else’s discretion. He so simply shared the fact that not the events of life but our responses towards them lead to a certain outcome (E+R=O). A change our attitude and responses towards the events of our life will automatically lead to living a happy life. The forest monk broached on the subject of sharing love and peace for making our environment harmonious for our survival.

Projections & predictions at the gadget corner:

The Dhinchak Youth:

Amongst us was an entrepreneur, Sanket Bhatt, who was 21 years old and had been running his company, Moksh WRTS for three years now. He shared with us an interesting perspective of DhinchakMumbai.com (https://dhinchakmumbai.com/), where lesser known colleges come together and share their ideas – a platform which is trying to create the next breed of entrepreneurs and promote entrepreneurship in students with some really god ideas to share with the whole world. It seems like a heart pumping fresh blood to the yet unknown colleges sharing the college news and happening events. The surprise element in his experience sharing was the fact that he holds three national records at this age, and I wished that I was so focussed at that age.

Mere Sadabahaar Ramu Kaka:

A pair of helping hands to help us solve our problem of not being able to be there for people who depend on us. A concept by Manav Shankar of meranaukar.com to help people get there work done in places where they can’t be physically present. His company gets the chores done for people for a fee – be it buying and delivering vegetables or medicines to your parents in far off places. His concept seems pretty intriguing and many of us would find it useful for things which may require our attention but sometimes we just can’t get enough time to complete them

Over all, the whole event was like doing meditation and listening to learned people whose share of experiences and insights are certainly going to help us in the path of realizing the divine entrepreneurship. The bottom line was everything we learn and earn is directly proportional to the way we live our lives and spread the harmony, making peace with ourselves and others.

It was an evening worth every second spent.
