I’ve been a very active reader and follower of The Rodinhoods since very early stages … since April 2011. The day my daughter turned 5 months and the day I left my corporate job to plunge into entrepreneurship full time. The risks were high with many liabilities, home loan, education loan and a growing daughter. But still I loved every moment of it. For the last 2.5 years I’ve been working from Delhi on Edvento.com and brought it to a level where I can confidently claim of it becoming a superior product in the market with wide acceptance.
This confidence in the product was possible because of my team. Your startup succeeds because of only one reason: people. This is what this post is about. The ecosystem.
In Sept last year, I moved to Hyderabad with my family to join my co-founder and shifted the entire operations here. The day I moved here I realized how slow and dormant the entire startup ecosystem was. It’s a laid back city no doubt but everyone was working out of their offices/homes. The buzz like I had in Delhi and what I had seen in Bangalore/Pune was missing. The city needed it. I needed it. I was getting bored.
iStarted
Thus was born iStarted. I started this group along with a friend to make the entrepreneurs of Hyderabad come out and share knowledge, experiences, mistakes, resources, etc. We face hiring issues, fund raising issues, etc all the time. And learning from others’ mistakes can drastically reduce time to fail.

Our startup is working out of IIIT. And we were ISB alumni. So we had all the resources. It was time to mobilize. After a couple of small meetups, people started approaching us with real problems. And the top most was “hiring”. You need to hire engineering talent, marketing talent, or maybe other skills sets that you would need in the initial team to grow fast. That’s when “Take the Leap” was born.
