Google glass(Encyclo)pedia!!

I always wondered i should have captured the Real incidents happened in front of my naked eyes (It may be some funny incidents, it may be Car Crash, it might be few rare moments of life, genuine witness to explain the situation which is real time (Never Planned, you cannot do it by holding the Handy-cam ahead of time) – So Answers to most of these is having “Google Glass!!”.

Google Glass is here, folks, whether the world is ready for it or not. After sending out notifications to participants of the Glass Explorer program and then releasing a developer API, Google also pushed out a support page for Glass which included FAQ and official tech specs. From the beginning, we were curious as to what was packed inside this new wearable tech. The mystery is finally over with.

The device itself has a “durable frame” that “fits any face” and includes adjustable notepads. The display is considered “high resolution” that is the equivalent to a 25″ HD TV being viewed at eight feet away. The camera features a 5MP sensor that can record 720p video. Audio is taken care of by a Bone Conduction Transducer. There is 16GB of internal storage, though only about 12GB is usable. A typical battery charge should get you through an entire day as long as you aren’t spending extra time video recording or participating in Hangouts.

Google Glass should work on any Android device running 4.0.3 or higher and that has Bluetooth.

With Glass unit in hand, the new MyGlass companion app is how you set it up. [Play Link]

Equally Google Glass comes up with some restrictions and shortcomings as

The biggest concern that will be recording and privacy issues. People worry about recording/ privacy issues. (PBS) They believe that what if one is at a park playing with their children who’s to say that someone isn’t watching them with their Google glasses recording them or taking photos of them without them even knows of these actions. It is a scary thought to think someone is watching you and you have no idea. This breaks a few codes of ethics, but we’ll get to that in a little bit.

The ban that has been placed is for driving with Glass, not a ban on Glass itself. Not sure why the state thought it would be a big enough distraction while driving to create a ban for it, while car makers are all moving towards a Heads-Up Display that is essentially the same thing as Glass.

Where you can’t use Google glasses literally?

Movie theater:

Bootlegging is a big issue in movie theaters, and Google Glass would only exacerbate copyright issues. That’s why, under Regal Entertainment Group’s admittance procedures, the device is already banned. Besides, how would you wear your 3D glasses?

Casinos

If you’ve ever been to a casino, you know there are strict rules regarding picture-taking to prevent cheating and protect others’ privacy. NBC News spoke to several casino owners, and the general consensus is that Google Glass is a big no-no.

 Cars

This isn’t law yet, but it probably will be. Google says you can wear Google Glass while driving, depending how you use it, but in West Virginia, there’s already a movement to ban the device in cars to prevent distracted driving.

Government Buildings

Assuming that Google Glass will be banned anywhere cameras are, it’s safe to say that places like courtrooms, government buildings and military installations will forbid Google Glass use. That means leave the gadget at home, White House visitors.

 Examination Centers

Google glass makes life simple by getting all the answers by ready, so my guess is Examination center might not encourage Google Glass 🙂

Temple/Religious Centers :

As most of the religious temple discourage all the Digital Cameras and Video cameras, Google glass will be eligible on Ban while entering into all religious temples 🙂

Cost:

One of the remaining very large concerns of consumers is the cost of Google glasses to the public. As of right now the cost of Google glasses ranges from $1,500- $3,000 and that will be available to the public in 2014.

Summary:

In today’s society we have become quickly accustomed to the emerging technologies around us, cell phones becoming Smartphones and androids, iPads, tablets, augmented reality, camera, mp3s, GPS, robots…that’s a whole different story. Technology has changed dynamically throughout the years from computers to laptops to now everything being all-in-one on your phone. To think that that will all now be in a pair of glasses is incredible. Google glasses are an emerging technology that uses augmented reality to take photos, video, use GPS, search the web for information, and more was created by Google X lab engineers and inventor Babak Parviz.

Google Glasses will impact society by helping consumers become more connected with reality rather than getting caught up in the technological world. One of the fear of consumers is that people will be come less aware of their surroundings and communication interactions between people face to face will die out. These glasses can help users stay connected with the digital world but enjoy real-life moments and stay in tune with the real world at the same time.

Statistics have shown that more than 180 million of people around the world are visually impaired and over 95% of Americans own a Smartphone or an android cell phone. This product will ultimately change society because it is new, innovative and presents a product that you do not need to hold in your hand but simply just wear on your face. Our generation’s today move so rapidly with technology that this product will penetrate into the market at a rapid rate and consumers will buy.
