How to select a payment gateway for online transactions in any website?

We did lot of research and found ccavenues to be a viable option. But we have not been able to get in touch with the right person in the company to implement it for a website.

Can someone throw some light on choosing a gateway for India and the process of getting it implemented.

If I May ask a few questions to help you further :

1. What line of business are you in ?

2. Are you customers individuals / businesses ?

3. Does your line of business bill your Customers Once (pay for a good – single purchase) OR on ongoing basis(saas oriented) ?

4. Are you expecting payments from overseas (customers are outside of India and will make payments in another currency) ?

5. What is/you envisage as the average transaction amount?

6. What are the number of transactions you are currently doing / expecting to do ?

There are number of factors that come into picture, generally people land up opting for the cheapest one later realizing that it was not the best one. If you are looking out for a PG service. I would recommend you to try Payzippy, you will find the contact details of the concerned person on the website. I am planning to switch to them from ccavenues. Cavenue is also a good option, i have been using it for a couple of months. Just go to the merchant registration page and fill out your details someone from the company will get back to you.
