Hello Rodinhooders,
I have been following you for quite a while and meanwhile felt a strong urge to start something on my own as well. Yes, you can call me either influenced or inspired by you all and your work, but no matter what it did give me courage to move on from idea phase to implementation phase.
I had many ideas, which like any other guy, wanted to get implemented but because of lack of like minded people around you or resources, those ideas remain forever dreams. I was one among them but soon decided or say, forced myself, to take a step ahead start building something on my own.
To start with, instead of creating too complex, decided with PINGLE.IN, it’s a social platform [like any other Facebook Group], you might be part of].
At Pingle, you can basically Ask, Discuss and Participate.
Having said that, it allows you to ask any question you have, which can be anything from looking for a maid in your area, knowing about Chinese restaurants/Schools/Pubs in your city [yeah, with reviews, general info and photos]. Your questions gets posted on the wall and is visible to every Pingle member. And that’s it, members can choose to be part of discussion by commenting, notifying post owner privately about someone who can be the help to post owner OR choose to ignore as well (No, hard feelings)!
I have also used Google powered search Engine, which will give you instant results for the question you have asked provided you tag important keywords just below your question [Yes, you need to tag and I need to remove this and thats one among many suggestions I already got :)]
I wanted to go with this idea, because it was easy for me to develop since I am a programmer myself and with a keen interest on having something on my own. I did face “leave this crap” here issues and “nothing is gonna happen, why are you wasting time” kind of mid-implementation syndromes but at the end, I wanted to have it accessible by everyone and to undergo the whole process of converting an idea to reality [Which is more important for me]. I wanted to take the first step towards starting something on my own and have taken it and trust me it does give a very proud feeling when someone appreciates it, no matter it is as simple as the word simple itself.
I am attaching some screenshots of the application and sincerely, eagerly and anxiously waiting for your suggestions to improve it more. I don’t wont to monetize the idea but yes I do want it to recognized.

Why you think people will login with their facebook account as your website is so new?
Why they gonna take a risk to do that, Also Interface is not that good.

I used facebook login because it handles user management on its own and I also get some info like their location which help the app to give relevant results.
For UI, I would try to change it if its not appealing, however I just went with 1 html, 1 controller funda and made app as light as possible.

I have a few suggestions :
No one will login through facebook as your website is new and unless they get to see a glimpse of the platform.Remember how Quora did it initially ? Make the questions and a couple of answers open and ask for fb/google login to view more answers and participate. So instead of hiding behind, make the platform open and if any user wants to participate, ask him/her to login. Also not all people are comfortable sharing what they post on facebook, so keep an option of adding reply ‘anonymously’ or ‘not sharing on fb’. You may also add login using twitter,google+ and linkedin.
The UI is very bad to be honest. The font is not readable. I couldn’t figure out what is that silly thing rotating besides ‘Pingle’. You can use some more interactive icons for “participate’ like : Participate and ‘How it works’. All social media icons at the bottom direct to your facebook fan page which is again a bad thing. Also the mention ‘We do not post anything on facebook’ attracts negativity and never show on your homepage what your platform can’t do (atleast in the beginning).
It is also a bad thing to put up ads. You don’t have enough questions,forget enough users, so why do you want to put up ads right now ? For whom ? Its a big big turnoff. As a rule sacrifice early profits if you can and in a business model like yours, the number of active users is like a real virtual currency in the future.
Also, how will you differentiate from Quora ? Just to mention, Quora is still not monetized inspite of big VC funding!
Lastly, what is Pingle in one simple line ? If its a discussion community, I get it but then why are you adding reviews ? Quora + Reviews = Pingle ?
You see there is a lot of scope for improvement and I wish you all the best in your endeavour.

Thanks for the feedback.
Yeah, I think I would need to:
1. Remove FB login or show a glimpse of whats inside before they opt to login and comment. This is the most common and genuine feedback I have received. Since I am the single developer on this, I chose the easiest user management handling part via facebook.
2. For UI, i guess am forced to change it and even I feel it needs improvement.
Best thing I liked about your reviews is the suggestions, where in I can show up trending posts in read only mode and then its upto user to act on it by logging in through out of many login providers.

Discussions are always integral part of healthy social living. At Pingle, we encourage healthy discussions wherein whatever questions, doubts, worries your fellow pingle members have, you can surely extend your help to them by taking part in discussions. Your views can help them reach what they are looking for.
Participate
A questions, always remains a questions unless others don’t share their experiences and views on the same by participating. A discussion can never begin unless participation doesn’t happen. At Pingle, Participation is the breath every discussion starve for and we surely encourage them the most.
