Student entrepreneur and rodinhooder Umang Sonthalia shares his awesome philosophy about work!!
What exactly do you do?
-Do anything“websites” for money.
-Design websites and sell or get websites designed and sell.
-Help dad with his restaurant in Andamans sometimes.
-Work on making my dream project big.
-If i get time, then study for my college exams. Doing B.Com from St Xaviers, Kolkata.
Why do you do what you do? Is it to make money, to become famous, to retire, to kill boredom, WHAT?
– I love it. I love to design websites to be true. Love to see more new designs, better designs. Money comes with it. To be true I have designed and more free websites than paid ones. Becoming famous…..hmm….never thought but may be if I think now. Standout from the guys in school and now in college.
Is there anything unique in what you do? And here ‘unique’ can mean anything – doing what’s been done for donkeys years and yet in a more cost efficient manner, or something new in a boring business or line or simply inventing something completely new?
-1st try – always failed & then always innovated in every next try. I do it with passion. Don’t care about rest.
What happens if this fails?
– Find Fault Correct it Do it again Repeat from 1 if failed. (easier said than done)
Any one or two incidents that make you shiver or feel proud of your journey so far?
– Renovating Dad’s restaurant. Creating something something like this in Andaman Islands was no less than a challenge. It was damn fun doing it. Tasted my 1st success.
– One incident that makes me shiver is I did a project for defense forces. I got screwed up at the end for not following the ministry’s guidelines which I was not aware of. I was 17 then. Now 18. 😛
State one really bad habit and one good habit (if you actually have one)
-Bad habit. I get distracted. Either I work really long hours or don’t work long hours!
-Good habit. Truthful to self. I deeply believe in it.
Famous last words to the readers ( if you knew you are going to be hit by a truck tomorrow, what would you like to tell the world (other than to be crossing the road safely)?
– Go Visit Andamans. You’ll love it.
