Autobiography of a Yogi: The best book on leadership I have read!

As featured in Mint & Livemint today by P. R. Sanjai.

The best book on leadership I have read: Alok Kejriwal

Alok Kejriwal, CEO and co-founder of Games2win, says ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’ truly inspired him.

Alok Kejriwal, chief executive officer and co-founder of online gaming company Games2win, says Autobiography of a Yogi is a book that has truly inspired him.

The book, first published in 1946, is an autobiography of saint Paramhansa Yogananda (1893-1952) and talks about his spiritual adventures. It has been translated into more than 30 languages.

“The book helped me focus, unbundle my creativity and most importantly taught me the power of relentless pursuit,” says Kejriwal, who is a serial entrepreneur.

Kejriwal has three other companies to his credit—Contests2win.com, Mobile2win.com and Media2win.com.

Mobile2win was bought by Walt Disney Animation Studios in China and private equity firm Norwest Venture Partners in India. Kejriwal says the autobiography is a personal favourite because it teaches the lesson that “to succeed in life, you need to blend knowledge, wisdom, grace and destiny with the guidance of a guru”.

The book discusses Yogananda’s encounters with well-known leaders and achievers from India and abroad including Rabindranath Tagore, C.V. Raman, Mahatma Gandhi and Therese Neumann.

“This book reiterates the role of a guru or a mentor whom we sometimes feel ‘we don’t need’. Also, the book explains the metaphysical aspects of life which we often shy away from, simply because we don’t understand them,” says Kejriwal.

The book has been an inspiration to many, including Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Inc.

“Steve (Jobs) had only this book on his iPad till his last day (as per his official autobiography) and after reading the book several times, I can understand why,” Kejriwal adds.

  1. Hi, I guess am a late comer to this post, but when I read this post on aoy & Babaji, I could not remain a silent reader but had to share my exp. It’s said AOY finds you ( I was asking so many Qs to the universe, it had to !! ) & when it did find me, it changed me 180 degrees & put me on a path of compassion & spirituality that I would have thought impossible to imagine some months earlier. It led me to my present guru / changed my social circle / food & drink…..what not. !!

But the reason of this post is to recommend one more book , ” apprenticed to a Himalayan master – a yogis autobiography”. This book is an autobiography of a living master Sri M, & direct disciple of guru Shri maheshwarnath, who in turn was a direct disciple of Sri guru Babaji. By now, I have read enough books on this subject and was abs delighted like a kid to know that we have a living master amongst us. This book I mention is more like a continuation of where Shri yogananji left. My eyes popped out & heart pumped furiously when i realized that we are not alone. We are being watched over & guided all the time, each within his / her ambit of karma. I won’t say any more, lest this response be termed as wiered !!

One can also connect with shri M online at https://satsang-foundation.org/ & stay up to date with hs msgs etc. the book is available on flipkart. Can’t recommend it enough !!

    Regards

    Vipul

PS: and I thought, i am here at rodinhood to learn and share as an entrepreneur. look where it brought me, to my fav subject, that too thru rodinhood !! ( chuckle !! ) :))
