Forced Marketing

In the past 4 months, I have become really annoyed with both Flipkart.com and InkFruit because of their banner advertisements. Both companies primary operating in e-commerce domain and heavily rely on advertisements to draw traffic.

Being a technology geek and a middle-class educated individual, I become a main target for both these players and somehow see their repeative ads on almost every site I surf, excepting my own. After trying to install plugins in my web browser to block them,  I have given up and decided to write this post. It feels like there is no escaping !

I still believe online advertisements have a long way to go. These companies should ideally primary focus on individuals looking for T shirts and Books rather than harassing me on Financial express homepage and spoiling my joy of reading news. Both these companies do few to gain inbound customers via social sites and continue to burn their fuel via huge banners on almost all technology and sports websites.

Being an active internet user and well wisher of these companies, I can only plead for them to innovate in the same way in marketing as they did in their respective industry.

The same has been reproduced on my blog.

Do you think this is the way forward for e-commerce companies to advertise ?
