help required regarding coupon site

Hello fellow trhs members,
I am doing freelance projects in spare time. Actually I am planning to start a coupon code site ( where online shoppers can find discount coupons of online retailers). The site will be made using a coupon site script for wordpress called couponpress. I already have contacts with leading affiliate networks in India. So monetizing my site will not be a tough task. Actually I had a few doubts in my mind. It will be really helpful if someone answers them.
1) There are a lot of coupon sites in India and the competition is extremely high. Will it be possible to establish my coupon site in such fiercely competitive environment? My expectations from my coupon site are modest and even 1k-5k profit every month from affiliate marketing will be enough.
2) How to coupon sites manage to get new coupon codes on daily basis? I mean from where they get so many new coupons everday?
I will really like if members reading this discussion answer my doubts.

  1. You need to focus on SEO efforts and online marketing to increase your visibility. Plus with established sites like retailmenot and couponduniya and all, you need to have a unique USP. What different do you offer? If you sort this out, your long term strategy would be intact.

    For new coupons, either use submissions or automate the process wherein you can manage to get latest coupon code from websites, the former of which would be ideal(since copying coupons from other sites would not give an edge to your site)

    Guess not!!

    So first find out what you need to do (Work Flow) and then Make a List of Potential Customers to start with (Vendors list separately) Do some research in the Domain and make yourself comfortable in the Driving Seat, yes the Drive would get a bit Bumpy from this point forward, so Buckle up too and be prepared for a rough ride if you really want to get on this race.

    Now if you already know How and Where your Income would be generated, the Who would come from the above exercise and the What and When can then flow in line.

    You would need to constantly keep in touch with your (Vendor) clients who would provide you the Coupons to be used for the consumption, alternatively you can also get a Call center setup to do just that. You have to play Many Roles rolled into one, even Handle the Bull by the Horns at times too… So get ready to get Dirty!

  14. It totally depends on your efforts. How you will reach out to the end users? Generally users go to google to search coupons or their favorite coupon site. In case of google, getting ranking for first year on any keyword is tough as market is crowded. Only way left is to advertise heavily using adwords or facebook. We at https://couponcodewa.com had to pause the work because of fund. We are redeveloping this website with new features in a hope to get some extra advantage. We will relaunch this website in coming future. Also, you need team of few people min 3-4 to get started as you need to add all latest coupons asap and then share with your readers. If you can invest 30-50000 per month then you are ready to go but just relying on Google is not going to help.

    If you can bring targetted traffic to your website, you can get profitable but it will take time!
