Investment the ultimate ecstasy…

This is something I like to share with all entrepreneurs like myself.

Why entrepreneurs?

Because they may land up being the investor in the story below. So….

What would give us ultimate happiness? One disciple asked Buddha.

He smiled and said with a purposeful pause, “That is for you to find out.”

The disciple did not understand the answer first but later during his sessions with Buddha started discovering it.

Well what is it that makes you happy? One investor was asked and he answered “Making money”.

All reporters and journalists defamed him and used all materialistic proofs to make him an anti-poor, anti-social figure. NGOs vowed not to take his charity and he was ‘malafide’ in all possible ways.

He on the other hand was completely cool. He did not speak to any social bodies, organization or others who were anti capitalists for some time. He went on doing what he loved.

After few years one of his friends asked him what would he do with all the money.

He smiled and said with a purposeful pause “that is for you to find out”.

And indeed the friend found out about him with all the access available and proximity to the investor.

After few months it so happened that both friends were called for the same seminar on investments. The investor’s friend was asked to conclude the seminar.

This is what he said,

“Friends, here we have come together to know ways of making more and more money. Everyone wants to know about it through the legends sitting out here. And as you may know by now that no one has said what you want to hear and that my friends, is the key to the question of making money.

Money is not made for the sake of it but it is the by-product of what we actually are doing. We ignore the deeds of the successful investors with our ‘moneyed’ glasses and miss to grasp the art of making money. These investors have realized that going after money is not the right way but teaching or helping others in constructive and purposeful issues is the right way.

Some of you may be working, some doing business or self employed. The person who believes in you is the person who has faith in you or sees some positive spark in you. An employer may see that loyal and integral individual in you, clients seeing well intended efforts by a self employed consultant, a financier a robust cash positive model in your business and so on. It is the investor in that employer, client and financier who sees the return on the investment he is making on you. This may be tangible things for few but intangible for a lot of us.

There is one more thing that I would like to point out with this investor clan and it is the happiness they get when they see employees, self employed or businesses flourish as you know there is no big happiness than the happiness you give others. There are investors who invest for self happiness, self indulgence but there are rare investors who invest to make the society a better place by promoting talent, identifying entrepreneurs closing gaps in insufficient services and products in society, taking businesses to the next level and making the world a better place to live. Friends, we have one such person amongst us today and I would like you to reintroduce him…”

The speaker turned around towards the investor friend but saw an empty chair…

He had left the seminar few moments back to continue his work of ‘making money’.
