Launch of DayHalt.com at TheRodhinhoods Open House!

Hi Rodinhooders

Happy to share our new startup called DayHalt.com (Book hotels for dayuse).

First of all let me thank, Mr Alok, Asha & Akancha for providing me such a wonderful platform TheRodinhoods Open House (14th Sep 2013) to Launch our startup. Thanks to all those people who were present there for such an overwhelming response and support.

Healthy discussion which was started 5 months back on TRHS converted into a useful product which is solving major problem people are facing i.e where to find a place to stay for few hours or during daytime [for freshen up, during transit, kitty parties, business meeting etc ] but without paying rates for entire one night stay.

I request all of you please visit our website(beta) www.dayhalt.com and give your valuable feedback.

Also do provide your insight what more we include to make this product more attractive and helpful to our customers.

  • Do you feel Android App will help us to increase our customer reach & booking during initial stage of startup ?
  • I request – if you have any link with Hotel Industry (especially 5*), do help me to connect with that person for tie-ups.

Please like our Facebook Page so that people in your circle also come to know about our portal which help them to book dayuse rooms.

Cheers,

Manish Golchha

  1. hey manish,

many congrats – nothing makes us happier than seeing a rodinhooder start up from an idea the grew here on trhs!

just checked out your fb page. i think you will need to have some uniformity in your branding. and like sushrut pointed out – perhaps you may need to tweak your logo as well.

as you know, we have lots of rodinhooders in the travel space so pls write to me if you need to be connected… i shall point your post out to them as well!

    all the best.

  2. ps: manish – pls get on to twitter 🙂

i just used #DayHalt 🙂 but sooner or later you will need a twitter handle as well!

  3. Thanks Asha. We will take care of what you said and yes twitter soon going to start. I am also thankful to Trhs for providing this opportunity.  Looking forward for healthy feedback from all rodinhooders.

  4. Congratulations Manish! Kudos to your team to come out with this idea of DayHault. I’ll need your help since we are mainly into corporate travel management business. I’m dropping you a comment before I chk out your website & fb page. All the best!

  5. This is a very good concept.Absolute necessity.Alternatively you can also add night halt.Sometimes we need only for day.or we need only for a night stay after  finishing our daytime purchases.Travellers like us feel we are wasting our money paying for full day whereas we either need only a night stay or a place for day only(for reasons very well explained in your website)

All the very best for your new concept & new venture.

  6. Thanks Preity Thomas. We are more than happy to help you with regards to Dayuse rooms. Till now we have tied up with good number of hotels offline, as contract processing is going on to bring it online. So if any query related to dayuse hotels, feel free to drop me an email or call me.

  7. wonderful idea…start budget day halt options specially for girls students who generally moves here n there for attempting competitive exams…….

  8. Congratulations! Manish on your startup launch.

The website looks cool, but i feel the moving text on the homepage is a little distraction, or you could probably make it little slower and smooth…

    All the best !

  9. Hi Nice ConceptBest of Luck 🙂

  10. Hi Manish

The concept is amazing. But when I went online to book a room, I find the following-

Dayhalt is offering me a room in  The Fern Citadal Bangelore for Rs 3900 and agoda is offering me the same room for Rs 3500 for 24 hrs. (both for double occupancy) (for 23rd sept)

Also agoda is offering the room for Rs 3000 for single occupancy for day , and day rooms more used on single occupancy (an assumption I am making).

Also there is no clarity on taxes. Its included or excluded in the quotes given by dayhalt.

Also I would Ideally like a 24 Hr call center if not atleast a call center from 6 am (and not 9 am as mentioned on the website). The reason being, I would be checking at around 8.00 am, as a concept day halt is new to me and am worried whom to contact if case things go wrong at the hotel. ( will have to wait for 1 Hr before I can place a call to day halt ).

Also no clarity on breakfast is there. If I book the room from agoda they mention- breakfast as complementary. Dayhalt doesn’t provide any detail on the same.

  11. Hi Geetha. Thanks for your feedback and what you mentioned is our future planning. We first need to tap dayuse rooms to convince hotel to provide only for night halt and we are doing that.

  12. Hi Ankit

Thanks for your valuable feedback & to check our website in details. Our next development on website is as you mentioned. To get clarity of inclusions “breakfast / taxes etc”, rates for single / double occupancy and we are rolling out these description very soon. Customer Support part will make process for the same.

Also for Fern Citadel rates, rates what you have seen in agoda is exclusive of 20% tax. Even after including that cost for dayuse is not much discounted for this hotel, as we are working on that part with them.

  13. Hi Rushikesh…!

Thanks for pointing out. We will certain look into this.

  14. Thanks Anoop. Certainly will keep this mind & will try to implement in next phase.

  15. hey manish – long time no word on DayHalt. how has the response been??

do update us on the latest developments!!
