We are pleased to announce the admissions for the 3rd batch of Master of Social Entrepreneurship (MSE) 2014-16, affiliated to Karnatak University, Dharwad.
What makes MSE program special at Deshpande Center for Social Entrepreneurship (DCSE)?
About DCSE: With an aim to demystify social entrepreneurship for young and creative minds, this residential program is carefully designed from a practitioner’s perspective. MSE is hosted by the DCSE that has been a breeding ground of several start-ups, an international network of enterprises and concrete partnerships with over 100 for profits and not –for profits who all are engaged in solving social issues with a compassionate heart and entrepreneurial mindset.
About the Course: The two year program is packaged with 25 different courses that blend cutting edge, practical experience with personal mentor-ship through with real entrepreneurs. Deshpande Centers have been launched in renowned universities throughout the US and Cananda, with the sole objective to make “learning relevant and responsive to real time challenges” and to embark on an even more ambitious aim to help students not just ‘learn’ about entrepreneurship but find the inspirations and tools of becoming an entrepreneurs themselves. About the infrastructure and other facilities: MSE will be hosted at Deshpande Centre for Social Entrepreneurship campus which provides a cutting-edge environment with fully equipped classrooms featuring audio and video facilities and WIFI. The center has additional facilities such as an incubation space, auditorium, digital lab, seminar hall and a robust library containing books, magazines, journals and contemporary digital content. We are pleased to share that being located at DCSE, MSE program brings an added advantage of the possibility of getting incubated in our Entrepreneur in Residence program, an incubation center where several other start-ups will accompany you as you chart the journey of developing a small idea into a big impact.
Some of the highlights from 2 Batchs are: 50% of the students have started student ventures. Potential students got opportunity of paid internships. During the summer vacations some of the students got internship opportunity outside India.
Who should join MSE? Graduates in any field who are looking to step into creating or managing a social enterprise themselves. People who are passionate about social issues but still possess an entrepreneurial acumen to venture into innovative yet sustainable initiatives.

also, do you have any case studies or stories of past students (this is your third batch, right?) – what are they doing now, etc? real life stories & examples will add value to your post.
