   This is my first reply on the rodinhoods, but couldn’t help but reply when I saw other people like me. I so agree with point #2. Just a few days ago I realized that I was unnecessary delaying the launch because I was planning and over planning stuff. That way I was going nowhere when I realized that there are some things my initial audience didn’t really care.

    

   I started categorizing stuff now in 2 categories; “good to have” and “must have”. I went ahead with the “must haves” to go live and will implement the “good to have” later.

   Another mistake that I did while starting off is not sticking to a schedule. When working from home, it’s very easy to lose control over time.

   Nitin, yes, I so agree.. Jus feeling that we all have a common strain of DNA…, how else do thoughts match :)… Ur good to have and must have sounds goos, let me make my list today.

   I also feel lack of basic financial understanding is a big disadvantage entrepreneurs have. One is never too sure if one is taking the right decision when it comes to associations in terms of funds, investors, loans etc.

   Mistakes that I made  : 

   – Did not take interest in the accounts of my business.  

   – Partnered with someone who contributed what money could have bought i.e – place to do business , paid heavy price for not considering Intellect and attitude aspects of the people. 

   – Did not understand cashflow ,working capital – which are crucial for you to survive 

   – did not read books to gain knowledge  

   – Did not take care of my health and focused only on building the company 

   – Lack of self-discipline 

   For the record I have corrected all of the above mistakes. 

   Current mistakes I am working on : 

   – Do not network – . 🙂 

   – build confidence to become a speaker

   Hiring too much. Issue with heavily VC funded companies. Looks like they hire just to convince the investors.

    

   Not focussing on extracting efficiency out of employees. In internet industry, people can do lot of work.
