A platform for leader and voter connect

Hi Rodinhooders,

This is Akram Khan based in Lucknow, I have build a platform called https://ineta.in/ which aims to be platform for leader and voter engagement pre and post election.

Here is how it is supposed to work :-

1) People will share their problems (This is based on a constituency)

2) once it has gained enough visibility (say 100 people of that area have same problem) then some pressure could be build on the politician of that area to go in action.

3) We would be updating information about the leaders for people to see and comment on their leader page.

It is in beta mode right now, would appreciate if Rodinhoods community could browse around and give some feedback 🙂

Thanks,

Akram Khan

  1. Hi Akram,

I went through your website. lots more to get done.

    1. Currently you have listed politicians, and inserted feed for news.
    2. I see issues listed, but they dont make to much sense to me as they are not marked by location,

eg of issue “The road from kondapur road to DLF is broken since at least last three years. It is always filled with water and experiences traffic jam. Needs to be repaired.” is not very important for someone not staying in this area. If you want to get 100 people saying roads are bad in India, u will get a lac but what can that achieve. getting 100 people stating where exactly the road is broken from kondapur to DLF will make a point. (mention Delhi and inner location if possible.)

Politicians listing and feed is not going to help much. if you want to inform people about politicians u need more information and concrete information. All this is available through RTI. insert positives and negatives of politicians, if they built a road, mention the road was built by …… and along with it mention information like cost and copy of the RTI report. let people decide if he is good or bad.

If you have leader of the day, mention why has he been selected.

Hope this helps. and hope i have not taken this on a different track than what you had in your mind.

  2. Thanks Anthony,

About issues :- Geo location is in place and we do ask the user to enter their constituency at the time of signup and issues will be divided according to constituency only. Since we are still trying to get traction right now so we are displaying all the issues for the moment. Later on we will be displaying issues based on once location.

About Leaders :-  We are extracting the news about the leader from various sources as it is not possible to contact all the leaders at the moment. You are right though that it does not add much value right now as we have only got minimal information right now. However the idea is that in future this will be a moderated wiki type of page where various people can edit it.

Still working to get leaders on board so that they can directly answer to the questions of people. Hopefully we would be getting a political party soon to join our platform.

Thanks again for looking at it.

  3. Hi Roddinhoods,

Glad to let you know that iNeta was featured in yourstory.com today, you can read the article here https://yourstory.com/2014/02/ineta-techie-kejriwal/

    Thanks,

    Akram

  4. Congrats for starting something in this space! My 2 paisa on the effort- I feel it would be worth the effort to take into confidence some MPs or MLAs who are willing to really interact with the people from their constituencies and are willing to bring in transparency. There maybe a very handful in the entire country and convincing them to get them onto a platform like this would be a herculean task. But if you can really get even a single representative to act it would carry a bigger impact than thousands of threads of public rant. I always wonder how many of the petitions which people share on Facebook and sign patriotically really reach the concerned person/authority? Some of the MPs and MLAs are active on twitter, maybe that could be a starting point to reach them if not directly.
Other than that, there are social entrepreneurs like Technagara (one of their efforts – https://bcity.in/), collaboration is the name of the game in any space today, even more when you are dealing with thick skinned target audience 😉
Other than that some minor things like an “about” page which can educate the visitors and ones like those pointed by Anthony.
    All the best!

  5. Thanks for your input Raghavendra, I will shoot a mail to Technagara let’s see if they are keen to collaborate . We are also thinking of something on the lines of how it works. Thanks again for your inputs.
