Beveragewala – An Ecommerce Store for Teas & Coffees. Would love to get feedback and reviews!

Hello Rodinhooders! How are you doing today?

I am Manish Hada, a first time entrepreneur and would like to share my starup with you guys.

Beveragewala has been founded by myself, Manish Hada, and my wife Puja Hada (yes, we are husband and wife and working together).

I have done a B.Sc. in Physics, followed by an MBA and an M.Sc. in Finance. Thereafter, I worked for three years in the marketing department of an educational institute in Gurgaon, India.

Puja has done a BBA followed by an MBA. She also has worked in branding and advertising for two years.

Both of us are big tea enthusiasts, and believed there is no good channel to view and purchase good teas and coffees in one place. This led to the idea of Beveragewala coming into existence.

WHAT IS BEVERAGEWALA?

Beveragewala, as the name suggests, is your online provider of premium beverages, particularly teas and coffees, right at your doorstep in India. We feel that with India opening up to globalization, a lot of brands are slowly entering the market and are not very readily available. We wish to provide these to our highly esteemed customers to offer a solution which involves supplying the best products with utmost ease.

At present, we have over 35 brands and 400 products, which includes a wide variety of Black Teas,Green TeasOolong Teas, Herbal Teas, Red Teas, White Teas, Coffees, and so on.

WHY BEVERAGEWALA?

We are a first-of-its-kind tea and coffee e-retailer in India. Hence, our biggest differentiators are the fact that we are the only player focused on this, we have the widest variety of teas and coffees, and that we are offering convenience and service which were not earlier associated with products we cater to.

FEEDBACK PLEASE

We get a feeling that we may be limiting our clientele by keeping only tea and coffee. However, we believe that it is better to focus smaller and in much comprehensive way.

We are young and full of energy and zeal. Your feedback could help us in utilizing the same in the right direction.

Looking forward to some awesome feedback.

Cheers guys,

Manish

  1. Hi Manish – Kudos on the new venture. The value proposition looks amazing.

Some of my inputs (from a customer point of view. I am not a pro entrepreneur)

    – Have you checked out Teabox – https://www.teabox.com/ ? They are in the business for some time now – though focussed only on teas (as the name suggests).

    – Given that you guys have just started, I guess it makes sense to stick to specific categories and see how things work out in each area before scaling up from day 1. Once you have a sufficient traction and brand name built up, you can dig deeper into these categories

    – The USP is not very much apparent. I guess its more of a matter of communicating with the right story or intent.

    – Your line of business has certain niche products. It would be great if you can make the customer aware about some of the varieties of these tea and their importance etc. E.g – oolong tea, white tea..their benefits..source of production. This way the customer will treat the site as a unified experience and not as a tea selling site.

Hope some of these pointers are helpful. All the best in the journey:-)

  2. Dude..

How can you have READY MADE INSTANT coffee on the page…

    Thats sick!

(I love my grounded coffee and when I saw the ‘instant coffee jars’ i ran away…

But on a more serious note

    GREAT IDEA

Its a niche, and when I get used to it, I will return all the time

Ps – I probably drink 1 kg of “Philips Malabar” coffee every day..

    Feature it?

Also describe the coffee tasting notes?

  3. Kaushal Dugar CEO & Founder at Teabox got featured in New York Times 🙂

  4. Thanks Alok for the feedback. Glad you liked the concept and will hope to see you on BW soon. Will try to get Philips malabar coffee ASAP.

  5. Thanks for the update. That is really awesome…

  6. Hi Manish,

Firstly a Great Concept! I am not a tea or coffee buff hence might not be able to help you much in terms of business objective, but might be able to give you feedback on design, technology, marketing etc.

It seems that you don’t have a marketing agency. If not we can help you market the product, you can visit – https://www.72interactive.in for more details.

    Here are certain feedback:

    1. Product Listing – Uniform Product Listing – Since you are featuring products on home page, they should be either equal size as internal pages or bigger, the current size is hiding the product while you hover on it to view price. Don’t look professional.

    2. Product Listing – Introduce Quick Look – to help your customer add a product to your cart with min-click.

    3. Category Description – Add description to categories like Black Tea, Green Tea, the description would help you in SEO & also help customers like me to understand – What is Black Tea?

    4. Remove Pagination & Show per Page options etc : This create duplicate content and might affect your SEO Ranking, instead use product scroll to help with better usability.

    5.  Add – Terms & Condition Link to your chart, which the user need to accept before placing an order.

    6. Under My Account – What are these and how are they related to a customer. I feel some are relevant, but what about others.

    • Account Dashboard
    • Account Information
    • Address Book
    • My Orders
    • Billing Agreements
    • Recurring Profiles
    • My Product Reviews
    • Wishlist
    • My Applications
    • Newsletter Subscriptions
    • My Downloadable Products

    7. Product Listing – Add to Cart – Why you have Add to Cart, if you are not adding the product to cart and taking user to product detail page.

    8. Product Review – You should have rating in 1 to 5. Just Text review would not be too helpful.

    9. Social Media Buttons – social media buttons are not integrated properly. Has issue

    10. Google Page Test Issue – 73/100

    11. Mobile – Responsive Design will not work – You need a separate version if you cannot afford mobile apps.

    12. Highlight No (in numbers) of brands you have in your store on home page.

You can call me at 9811122212 if you wish to discuss it further and need some assistance.
