Got Questions On Building Or Marketing A Mobile App?

You may have come across several of my articles earlier on tech entrepreneurship as well as building or marketing your mobile app.

I’ve been helping entrepreneurs and businesses build and market their mobile apps for over four years with a few successes along the way – Canvsly (featured by Apple, Washington Post, TechCrunch, etc + won two awards); Sleep Easily by Shazzie (over 465,000 MAUs); Glenn Harrold (close to 4 million downloads).

I’m also a mobile product and marketing strategy columnist for Inc Magazine, Entrepreneur Magazine, The Huffington Post and The Next Web

I’m a Clarity Certified Expert, through which have mentored many entrepreneurs and addressed their queries as they build and grow their mobile app startup.

And now…

I’m happy to let you know that I’ll be spending time everyday addressing your queries for free using the Meerkat app. Meerkat is a live video streaming app where you would be able to see me talking to you and you can ask your questions by typing in the comment box.

You can follow me on Meerkat with the ID: @rahulvarshneya. If you don’t have an iPhone, you can also watch the live stream on the web. In that case, follow me on Twitter (same ID) to get updated on when I go live on #dailyappchat

There are no recordings, only live streaming, so be sure to tune in everyday, evening IST! 🙂

  1. This is nice. I have installed the App. Would watchout for your stream. What time IST ?

  2. Hi Puneet,

I haven’t decided on a specific time yet. Will experiment for a few days and see what suits most best!

  3. Here’s an addendum to my post.

Meerkat created a lot of buzz, but once Periscope came out, it generated an even more. Having used both the apps over the last couple of weeks, my biases lean more towards Periscope than Meerkat. Here’s a bit of an analysis of the two apps.

Meerkat heavily depends on Twitter (they’re changing this, though very far in getting it right), so unless you already have an established base of followers (upwards of several hundred thousand), it’s very difficult to organise a meaningful stream. And so, the adoption of this app was restricted to VCs, Celebrities, Authors, etc. Essentially, influencers!

Periscope however has a more open platform where an everyday joe can become a hot celebrity (just like what YouTube did to recorded video). I went live yesterday showing what the view outside my office window looks like – guess what, 39 people joined the stream to watch! 🙂

I did an AMA on mobile product/marketing strategy today and look what happened there:

    Conclusion:

I’m @rahulvarshneya on Periscope. Look for my streams on Periscope as I change loyalties from Meerkat! 🙂
