How to get leads for an ecommerce company?

Hi Rodinhooders,

I have enrolled as an affiliate partner of a leading ecommerce platform which enables people to start their own ecommerce store without much technical skills. The ecommerce platform is very famous and have a lot of popular stores running on its platform.

I am offered a certain fixed commission for every paid signup I generate for the company.

I have been given an affiliate link (through which I should get Signups) and also mailers, banner ads etc. Apart from that I am also provided offline support i.e if I provide details of leads to the company, it contacts them and converts them into a sale on my behalf.

I would be really happy if all fellow rodinhoods suggest me some good innovative ideas to get leads of people who would like to start their own ecommerce store. Please guide me.

The best way to get started for affiliates is to write targeted content and then give your URL for people to sign up, right inside your content.

Thanks a lot Shobit for your reply. It is indeed a very good way to get leads but what does a person do if he does not have his own blog/website to write and publish the content? Article directories and guest blogs do not accept affiliate links in the posts. What does one do in that case?

What is stopping you from creating your own blog and marketing it?

The only issue is that there is a lot of competition and it might take a few months to get a good ranking in the search engines. I was looking for something which can generate the leads fast.

If you’re willing to create content, buy some ads on sites like Reddit and put your affiliate links there.

However after your suggestion of starting my own blog and marketing, I have registered a domain and have setup the blog, but haven’t started posting content yet.
