I along with two other high school friends started Craftila this year. Craftila is a utility gift store and offers over 500 products ranging from bags to home décor, corporate gifts to photo frames, greeting cards to mugs. With a number of exclusive options, Craftila’s customers will never have to settle for the same old boring gifts or run out of ideas for a perfect gift anymore.

Why do you do what you do? Is it to make money, to become famous, to run away from something, to retire, to kill boredom ?

When a guy from IBM, a techie from IIT and a nerdy biotechnologist face the question of “do we really want to do this?” they usually find answers in something very different from what they thought their lives would be. And hence, we started Craftila to escape from our boring 9 to 5 jobs and to create something of our own.

Is there anything unique in what you do?

Unique products, beautiful packaging, prompt delivery and excellent customer service is what sets Craftila apart. And we love our mother nature.

What happens if this fails?
I would go to Himalayas in search for the next big idea.

Any one or two incidents that make you shiver or feel proud of your journey so far?
I think for any start-up, the biggest reason to feel proud would be people’s appreciation. Within days of launching, Craftila started receiving orders from everywhere, right from our friends to family. But what made my day when the orders started pouring from unknown people. That was a result of purely our marketing and our company’s profile. That made me really proud.

State one really bad habit and one good habit (if you actually have one)

For starters, I shake my leg when I get nervous. A lot. I feel like sleeping the second things start getting out of hand. Being a technology and football addict, I get distracted a lot by tech and soccer blogs during working hours. As for a good habit, I make sure I play with my dog for at least half an hour in a day no matter how busy my schedule is.
