Ask For Help

What are some startups based in India’s conflict zones (J&K, North East, Red Corridor)?

Hello folks,
My name is Humaira, and I work as a feature writer with the Hindustan Times. This is my first post, so not entirely familiar with how exactly the discussion thread works here. Nevertheless, it feels great to be a part of such a dynamic forum!

For one of my articles, I was actually hoping to connect with a few startup founders who have launched businesses in conflict zones, mainly in J&K, the North East, and the more unstable parts of Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. Startups that are two-years-old or less.

I was keen on exploring some challenges that are peculiar to running a startup, sustaining and scaling it, in any of the above conflict zones.

Can elaborate further, but for now, would appreciate any leads at humaira.ansari@hindustantimes.com

It’s a little urgent!

Thanks!

  4. Hey Humaira! I don’t know of anybody like this, but someone I know runs a school near Ranchi. I will find out from him and then put you in touch with him later today.

    Cheers!

  10. Hey Humaira!

Sorry for the delayed reply. I dug around a little bit and have come up with this entity called CGNet Swara, which does a lot of work in Chattisgarh. Check it out here: https://cgnetswara.org/about.html

I don’t know if this meets your requirement, but it will be worth checking it out. In any case, they can refer you to start-ups who do fit the bill.

Let me know how it goes. I will look some more anyway.

    Cheers!

    Ganesh

  11. And here’s one more angle to this thing. Start-ups working in the mining sector. Most of these are likely to be in conflict-ridden zones.
