Being an entrepreneur is amazing!

I have been a “Rodinhood” for more than an year, though I am writing only now to share about myself and my work.

I guess I was always an entrepreneur at heart and constantly looked to project myself in everything I did.

I happened to be serving at a financial organisation just before I started up, where I played my longest career innings till now. The only reason – it gave me the opportunity to be an entrepreneur.

But then the itch to be completely on your own is so different. To discover, to seek the challenge, to venture into the unknown, to solve a problem and of course make pots of money, I am sure all entrepreneurs feel that way.

I turned an entrepreneur this year. It is just amazing!

I have started  www.learningInfinite.com  with a friend and old colleague.

This is about education (actually learning), a topic very close to my heart.

I don’t believe in the way it happens today.

It is so ironic that almost all the learning that we use today has come out of our real work experience and not what we studied in schools/colleges.

That clearly proves that learning happens in real environments when we “think” and “do” (the rodinhood motto) and not by cramming some textbook crap which has been subject to whims of bureaucrats and politicians.

Not to mention the regulations and archaic systems those have been holding back true innovations. But that is ok, I am on a long journey.

And I firmly believe that learning is a never ending process (and that is what the name reflects “Learning Infinite”.)

There are hardly any ways in which this need of constant learning is catered to except “it just happens”. No structured way definitely.

Most people still rely on self-learning as an option followed by trainings provided by companies they work for.

And, I guess most of us will give out the same reaction on what these “trainings” are actually about.

So, we have started with the supplementary, executive education space with a focus on Business and Financial education.

As I understand, knowledge and skills around business and money are the core requirements for anyone wanting to be successful. And it is so, so lacking.

Even with Business owners and executives responsible for business!

Even after a management education (from wherever)!

That is where we will make an impact using the interactive model of “learning by doing” delivered online.  It will include challenges/problems, simulations, discussion forums, expert facilitation, projects, etc. all that makes learning real.

We started a few months ago and have made our share of mistakes. We have been told online model will not work or will work after 5 years, refused by customers, have been refused funding, etc, etc (am sure there are more to come). But we are learning and evolving.

I feel excited to invite you to check out www.learninginfinite.com and share any feedback, comment that would help me “do” better. Wishes would also be great!

Thanks for reading.

  1. hey nice read vipin…

just an instant reaction to your website – i like the clean look. but i think you could make it more warm & friendly by adding some more pix. also, in ‘about us’ where you’ve mentioned founders – pls try to add your pix there as well. it’s nice to have a few faces for ppl to associate with. but try not to put the conventional kind. be creative!

    all the best!

  2. Thanks Asha. Shall heed your suggestions.

  3. Hi Vipin,

This website looks interesting and the concept of imparting financial education is commendable.

However, I feel the topics are restricted. (Ofcourse I understand that its just a new concept and will take time to expand). I think you can add topics such as equity markets, equity research, etc. which will interest many people – though not everyone gets in to these professions it will still help them in their investments or research related to their own portfolio.

You may also think of providing basic and advanced MS Excel training – though it sounds trivial its definitely a practical skill thats highly valuable.

Hope some of my suggestions are helpful. Wishing you good luck.

  4. Thanks for the suggestions and the wishes Sridhar. 😉

  5. Well written – crisp and straight from your heart. The website is also neatly designed and impressed with your plans on financial education and more – best wishes.

My tryst with entrepreneurship is also nearing 2 years by month-end and has been an exciting and fun-filled journey with lots of learning. Having been a business reporter for more than 8 years and then last 9 years in Public Relations & Corporate Communication before venturing on my own with Reputation Advisory services has been learning on the job.

Unlike many of you, don’t have issues of funding and bank proposals or rejection as am into services of reputation advisory but issues of acceptance and need for deploying communication for building brand and reputation in Indian corporate has been a tough call.

Am putting together my experience on this two-year tryst with Entrepreneurship in Public Relations and will share shortly and would be happy if others could spend some time to read and give their feedback and comments.

  6. Thanks Shankar. Would love to hear/read your story.
