How to SUPERCHARGE your Sales

Hi Rodinhooders,

Have you ever wondered how it would be if you/ your team never had to input data into a CRM system and magically you could start predicting the outcome 😉 Having built the CRM system for a billion dollar organization, been a sales professional for 17 years, sold in 4 continents and talking to numerous sales professionals we have finally built a product that we feel you would love.

Relatas – Relationship Intelligence for Sales Professionals

WHAT IS RELATAS?

Relatas is Relationship Intelligence helping you auto discover relationships insights. It brings your interactions like email, calendars, calls, SMS, social feeds and adds predictive analytics to it to help you understand who you are losing touch with, which client needs urgent attention to not lose business and who can connect to the next lead

Let’s see, how quickly can you answer these questions?

  1. How many people are you losing touch with today?
  2. From all the clients that your company manages or is prospecting, which clients need immediate attention today?
  3. Who is the best person who can connect you to your next million dollar lead?
  4. Who within your team is losing touch with their most important Decision Maker?
  5. Traveling to San Francisco, who else can you possibly meet other than the people you are going to meet?
  6. How are you/ your team members interacting most – emails/ calls/ meetings/ social channels?
  7. Which of your clients are at maximum risk today?
  8. How much effort is being put weekly in following $$$ v/s normal communication?

Relatas is loved by Enterprises because it pulls in the interaction data from daily used systems without any data entry from the team members and helps you get answers for above questions and many more.

WHY IS  RELATAS loved by sales professionals / CXO / VP community?

No-body, yes you read it right, no-body likes to enter data into CRM systems. When I was leading a sales team, my team members would fill the CRM system just before the meeting with me and it would be mostly junk. Secondly I had no clue of who my team was interacting with and when, which clients needed my attention and which were falling off-radar. Relatas smartly captures your daily interactions and makes intelligence of it, so that you can make smart decisions, for yourself and the team.

  1. Congrats on making a b2b product service – really difficult job anywhere in the world!

  2. Alok,
Thanks for the message. Surprised to see limited feedback since I posted this. Guess B2B is not the flavor of the month.

  3. Well, you’ve built a solid business. The B2C will all have their moments of fame and then vanish. Who wants that ? 🙂

  4. sudip –  today i will be promoting this over social media.

in my experience rodinhooders who share their feedback with others get a fairly decent response. that’s how online communities work! i have never seen you respond to anyone else’s showcase posts. perhaps if you started getting more active on trh you will get a better response?

    🙂

  5. Hey Sudip. First off, congratulations on building this product. I like the idea. Happy to offer my feedback on the product and the video, below. Fair warning, though – I tend to ramble a bit and have been told that I’m verbose. I can also tend to be confusing and/or confused sometimes…haha. Feel free to call me out on anything you disagree with, or if you feel I haven’t understood the value proposition completely, or even just because…..

With that out of the way, I love the idea behind the product. Whatever I say below, please understand I think it’s an excellent direction to head in. Here are the challenges I see –

1.Sales comes in many flavors. All flavors have their own respective challenges & sales cycles (and thereby use cases for your product). Who are you targeting? Inside sales teams? The one call close ? Short sales cycle ? Or the Consultative, Long Sales cycle? Account Management? Very important to define your target audience (which use cases you highlight should depend on who you’re targeting). Don’t machine gun it (on the video & elsewhere).

    2. Another interface? I feel this is going to be a huge challenge which you can only overcome by providing a HUGE value. It’s a task getting sales teams to use their CRM enough, despite very little manual input these days (auto capture of calls, recordings, mails, contacts, web & other interactions etc). How are their managers going to get them to use this? Would you like people to shift from their current CRM? Or are you targeting new customers who are looking for a CRM ( not vested in their current tool)?

    3. Sales Intelligence needs more – For e.g., I use document tracking tools that give me a history of which of my documents are viewed by a prospect, for how long, where they spent more time in the document etc. Same thing for the links I send them (including website tracking, along with break up of which part of the website they’re spending more time on etc.). I can pump that information into my CRM too. If I’m about to make a pitch to them I want to know as much as I can about what interests them about my product….

    4.  Don’t compete with CRM’s. Make it complimentary. CRM’s today offer way more functionality & value (think sales & marketing process automation)

    5. The bit about customers falling off the radar, most companies have CRM process automation in place to ward against that. Also, how will you determine chances of a customer falling off the radar? The time gap between contact with a customer differs by product, industry & sales cycle type?

    6. As a customer the most value I’d get from a sales intelligence tool would be

    a) To help with prospecting – Identify more leads, connect with them, possible introductions etc. (which the product does. Haven’t experienced it so can’t comment on how well. Be happy to take it for a spin and give you more detailed feedback). Also help me with any other intelligence it can gather about the prospect (Blogs, articles authored by the prospect, Social Media profiles, Interests – For e.g. If a customer I’m pitching to is a golf / other sport player enthusiast I’d like to know, Info on what products they’re currently using in their setup etc.)

    b) On viewing customer interaction history with respect to documents, links etc. that I send them. I want to get an idea about what features & benefits I want to focus on in my presentation. I also want to have an idea about which are the likely problem areas I am going to run into with this customer / presentation / negotiation. As a sales person, I’m connecting dots all the time. Give me the dots to connect. That’s what gets me to think, to engage, to understand…..

    c) Email tracking built in.

Right now I use all of this but I have to duct tape it together. I think it would be kick-ass if there were a tool out there that did all of these 3 things, had an open API and some prebuilt integrations with CRM’s, sales & marketing automation tools, etc.

I just signed up on your website first & then came here to realize that maybe my experience of the product was different to what you’re offering here. Like I said, happy to take it for a spin if you’re willing to offer some one-on-one onboarding help. (The onboarding experience needs to be improved too, I feel. You’ve got too big an ask right off the bat (to have access to all my emails, even in offline mode 🙁

Not trying to be negative here. All of the above is well meaning and offered constructively…. Happy to engage more and understand the product better. Right now I don’t think I get it very well.. Also happy to brainstorm with you a bit for a better UX & marketing funnel …

Wish you all the best !! Cheers !

P.S. On the most interacted emails, right now it’s picking up all the notification emails I’m subscribed to because of the sheer volume of it. Doesn’t provide any value that way.

Thanks a lot for taking the time and providing such detailed response. I am heading out for a meeting but would answer all your questions before the night ends. I wanted to send this message acknowledging that I have read your comments and also wanted to thank you.

  7. Amit

Here is my detailed response. Again thanks for taking the time for such detailed feedback. Happy to get on a call with you and understand your experience first hand. May I request you to pl. set time on my calendar at relatas.com/sudip

1.Who are you targeting? Inside sales teams? The one call close ? Short sales cycle ? Or the Consultative, Long Sales cycle? Account Management? Very important to define your target audience (which use cases you highlight should depend on who you’re targeting). Don’t machine gun it (on the video & elsewhere).

<SD> Relatas is targeted towards Client Facing Group, which includes your Inside Sales, Field Sales, Consultive Selling, Account Management. The thought being Sales is Relationship based and Relatas is Relationship Intelligence doe Client facing professionals. Anyone who is interacting with the customer is a postnatal Relatas user. Relatas beings all the teams interactions into play and gives good insights at the company level.

<SD> The idea of Relatas is a no-effort sales. You don’t need to do anything on it. Relatas gets your interactions automatically and sends you notifications on when to act (coming in our May Release). Relatas provides valuable inputs to the management to see which team members is more successful and why, how are they interacting, gasification built in for Relatas for Business, which shows the team members where they stand on various parameters compared to the team.

<SD> We had document tracking with page level analytics. Its under a UI revamp and should be released post May.

    4.  Don’t compete with CRM’s. Make it complimentary. CRM’s today offer way more functionality & value (think sales & marketing process automation)

<SD> Relatas in its current format is more powerful when used along with a CRM if you are an Enterprise. Pipe to popular CRM systems are being built. Relatas can be used on its own for SMB’s.

    5. The bit about customers falling off the radar, most companies have CRM process automation in place to ward against that. Also, how will you determine chances of a customer falling off the radar? The time gap between contact with a customer differs by product, industry & sales cycle type?

<SD> We currently capture 7 signals to determine which customer is falling off radar.

    6. As a customer the most value I’d get from a sales intelligence tool would be

    a) To help with prospecting – Identify more leads, connect with them, possible introductions etc. (which the product does. Haven’t experienced it so can’t comment on how well. <SD> We do provide the best possible path to connect. On the other point, we want to reach that level of intelligence too. We are working on the same.

    b) On viewing customer interaction history with respect to documents, links etc. that I send them.

<SD> Relatas in its current form doesn’t track web links. I understand that might be an important indicator but our customers haven’t yet requested for that feature. But will build it into our pipeline. Regarding likely problem areas – there are lot of possibilities, we would love to solve this. Let me ask you how would you solve this problem? “which are the likely problem areas I am going to run into with this customer / presentation / negotiation”

    c) Email tracking built in.

<SD> This feature is available in Relatas.

Right now I use all of this but I have to duct tape it together. I think it would be kick-ass if there were a tool out there that did all of these 3 things, had an open API and some prebuilt integrations with CRM’s, sales & marketing automation tools, etc.

P.S. On the most interacted emails, right now it’s picking up all the notification emails I’m subscribed to because of the sheer volume of it. Doesn’t provide any value that way.

<SD> Right now this feature is simple, we are building ML into it to make it more intelligent.

<SD> Happy to provide you Relatas for Business access so that you can try out the Business features and provide feedback on the same. Pl. mail us at hello@relatas.com from your official id and we shall get it set up for you.

  8. Hey Sudip, Sent you an email on the hello@relatas.com. Have back to back meetings today but let’s connect on a call soon. Cheers !

  9. Amit

Thanks for the call today evening. It was nice speaking with you and thanks for the feedback.

  10. Hey Sudip, Thank YOU. For all the help with some of my own conundrums :-).

Pretty kicked about the product you are building. Love some of the features, as you described them. Looking forward to when you start offering it to independents. Will definitely take it for a spin then.

    Rock on man !! Cheers.

  11. Hey Sudip,

Would love to try your product and see what difference it makes. Do you also have a mobile app.

    Regards,

    Amit

  12. Amit,

We are building the first version of the mobile app which should be out by May end. But our product is responsive and you can use if on your mobile device.

  13. Relatas sounds great. Will send an email from official email ID. Cheers!

  14. Hey Sudip,

Ideally, I would like a link on these option so see results, which is currently not happening.  If I cannot see results by clicking, these data are meaning less for me.

    Additionally, You should include following:

    • Quick Guide on each option
    • A link to detail page, which explain how to use the feature

    Contacts

    • Search should show me results from my entire list, currently it doesn’t show any result.
    • An option to clear the search
    • An option to associate group an email with a contact.

If you don’t have a mobile app. How do you plan to syn calls and contacts. Also have few questions like

    • How do I remove some contact and personal data?
    • How do I ensure that personal data is not syn?

Also check some of your UI parts, like the graph scale should change dynamically based on data available. Instead of showing static scale.  Also seems your location factor is not working, since It only shows Banglore nothing else…

I hope this quick feedback was helpful. I would review in details and share with you when I have some more time.

    Regards,

    Amit

  15. Amit,

    Excellent points. My response below:

Ideally, I would like a link on these option so see results, which is currently not happening.  If I cannot see results by clicking, these data are meaning less for me.

<SD> We are launching this by mid May.

    • Quick Guide on each option
    • A link to detail page, which explain how to use the feature

<SD> For business users we send an on-boardign deck which has the details. Please do let me know if you didn’t get it, will send it across.

    Contacts

    • Search should show me results from my entire list, currently it doesn’t show any result.
    • An option to clear the search
    • An option to associate group an email with a contact.

<SD> Contacts search shows you results from your contacts. Let me know what you were searching for and the screenshot, will have our technical team look into it. You may send us a mail with the screenshot at hello@relatas.com

Also seems your location factor is not working, since It only shows Banglore

<SD> This will get granulized with the mobile app.

If you don’t have a mobile app. How do you plan to syn calls and contacts. Also have few questions like

    • How do I remove some contact and personal data?
    • How do I ensure that personal data is not syn?

<SD> First version of the mobile app is launching in May. Will send a mail to all our users as we launch.

  16. Cheers
