Inspired me to give it all

Hi everyone

I am Puneet Singh from Bangalore. Though I have been a part consultant and part entrepreneur for almost two years now, it is now that am fully putting myself up in my startup.

I have launched my website, https://admyreview.com/ which is basically an online forum to view, review and discuss ads of leading Indian and international brands. I am doing it alone so there is still Work In Progress you might find there.

I couldn’t stop myself from discussing this with you all as I have been following therodinhoods blog for almost an year now and have learnt and got inspired from many wonderful examples here!

I would appreciate if I could have some reviews/feedback from fellow rodinhooders on how I can improve!

Thank you for inspiring people like me and I will keep you posted on more!

Thanks!

Puneet

  1. Hi Puneet,

I have registered myself. I couldn’t find any reviews on any of the ads, may be due to lack of traffic right now.

This concept seems to me fresh. Also, I believe common man, specially youth discuss advertisements nowadays. A dedicated forum for this purpose is great.  All you have to do is build traffic. You can have a FB application, which may help you survey about particular advertisement. You can collect data regarding reviews for particular advertisement using various methods, analyse it and offer it to sell to companies.

Later, even ad agencies and brands may hire you to give them a review data, but I don’t see this happening in near future, you will have to build your brand first.

For now, you can do something more innovative. Provide platform for freelancers and new ad agencies. These guys can randomly create ad campaign for any brand and put up on your forum and get reviews. If these guys get good reviews and good no. of views, you can pitch those ads to the brand itself with supporting review data.

These are my instant thoughts that came to my mind. Feel free to connect with me.

  2. good luck!

I like the idea. The trick is to keep the trolls and the “Taporis” away and get great comments, so that agencies and brands begin to take them seriously!

  3. Thanks Aman. Yes, you’re right, am looking at getting content and traffic on my website right now. Once, we have that going, brands can be approached on one-on-one basis.

Thanks for your details. Will connect shortly.

  4. Thanks Alok! And yes, I’m working on getting the right audience and comments to the content.

    Thanks!

  5. Puneet,

Just thinking aloud here, why don’t you make it a ‘niche’ only place — say only for folks from the advertising industry. They can comment, critique, discuss the ads from various angles.

    Just a thought…

  6. Your site is slick.  But I dont understand who would participate here, and why ?

Brands ? – the money is already spent, so it only helps them do post-mortems.

Consumers ? – only those who love / hate the brand would come ?

Advertisers ? – to get trends / competition analysis?

Could you elaborate on this in your description, or the stage that you are at, or what kind of feedback you are looking for, so that our feedback can be relevant ?

I’m thinking this needs to be positioned like a audience measurement tool – a button on every YouTube ad, or a channel that is run on YouTube listing the ads?  Or a widget brands place on their landing pages to collect feedback from consumers?

  7. hi puneet,

    any updates on AdMyReview?
