So how did the Delhi ‘Structured’ Rodinhood Meet-up go?

For the last few months, I have been striving hard to write about certain things but I haven’t been able to. But I strongly believe in the fact that you need just one reason to do something against many reasons to not do that.

So yesterday I found that one reason to write this article. Delhi Rodinhoods Meet-up – ‘Structured’.

We all know the enthusiasm one gets to see in an Open House where Alok ji comes and instils the spirit of not giving up and going on in his own way. The crowd at such Open House meetings are unparalleled to the one where we try to organize it within few Rodinhooders of a particular city. Hoping for the best and taking forward the energy and enthusiasm that Rodinhoods has bestowed entrepreneurs with, yesterday we had an awesome evening organized around the concept: “How to sell your start-up”.

As the question remains a mystery with each start-up figuring it out in its own particular way, still we tried hard to solve it for start-ups which are at the brink of entering the business world with their big idea. How did it happen – everyone just listened, pondered, suggested, opined, pointed out possible glitches, figured out potential opportunities, opened up their pitara of experience, only to make sure that the one presenting his/her idea takes back home newer and valuable insights.

The event started off with a keynote by Mr. Suresh Mansharamani, one of the most active and superbly-energetic Rodinhooder. The loud ‘Good evening Rodinhoods’ filled the hall with uncountable level of energy enough to make the rest of the evening worth it. His short and quick keynote included all points from importance of networking, connecting, following up, and communicating to being visible with his single but strong formula: V+C=P (Visibility+Credibility=Profit). I am sure everyone must have noted it down in their minds or scribbled in their hearts.

The three presentations that followed had Shikha Kothari talking about her start-up idea, Lasting Impression – an Image Management Company; Ashwani Gaur talking about PlayCez, a start-up that helps you discover best places around the city and finally Rishabh Kapoor with his unusual yet an interesting start-up – IRentShare, that helps build a network of renters and buyers of small & big stuffs.

The Q&A Session was interestingly carried out by active Rodinhooders posing trivial to quirky questions to let start-ups untangle their challenges and seek opportunity hidden behind each query.

The ending punch was ofcourse by the Personal Branding expert, Amit Mishra with his idea that would work around helping core team of an organization to gain recognition and respect with his branding know-how.

As the wonderful evening was reaching its end, we had a quick discussion on what could be the concept for the next meet-up (we do plan to organize it regularly) which we finalised with “How to win first few clients”. We would seek case-studies to be presented by start-ups as well as established businesses regarding how they actually won their first few clients.

Though we missed taking the group snap (the customary requirementJ), the evening got wrapped up with great networking and perceptive discussions. Thanking everyone who was present there without whom it wouldn’t have been such a wonderful evening!

Alok ji, Akancha and Asha – Thanks a lot to you all for building, working and providing us this constructive platform and spreading the spirit to each city. It has always been your keen-to-help attitude that has given us the confidence of organizing it in such structured manner.

Hoping to see you all at the next meet-up – 29th March J [It would be always last Friday of every month.]

  5. It was a great meetup indeed, successful from all standards and was a great learning experience too for people who were present. People who missed it,not only missed the presentations but also missed the opportunity to meet some very passionate and interesting Rodinhooders.

I am sure the next one will be bigger and better than this one 🙂
