  1. This is awesome!

  2. Cheers!! Rodinhooders 🙂 This is super cool news for us 🙂

  3. Rocking

I am pleasured for knowing such great news from you, it is better if you explain what kind of benefit the startup gets

  4. Great Job Asha! More power to this wonderful community.

  5. Amazing job guyz!!

  6. What exactly is Dell delivering for Rodinhoods?  I am normally skeptical of big ass pronouncements from big ass vendors.

“Dell is committed to empowering organizations be future-ready.

    – how? “committed” “empowering” “future-ready” alll sounds the empty zeitgeist of Web 2.0 BS Generators

Our partnership with TheRodinhoods is focused on working closely with a community

    – working closely with the community doing what?

of over 11,500 entrepreneurs to understand their business objectives and provide appropriate technology counsel

    – does that mean we get “free” hardware sizing and tech assessments? Not from techno-sales talking head who is eyeing the quarterly sales figure but from actual hardware junkies seasoned in the brew of startup hardware woes?

that will help align their IT investments with their future growth”.

    – this sounds like corporate bilge… 🙂

  7. yes we know you are skeptical and a self-proclaimed motor mouth abey.

obviously we have sat across the table to understand how Dell can help us help startups.

  8. 🙂 Yes Asha, I’ll be happy to eat my words, and maybe a sock or two once Dell delivers.

  9. for the benefit of everyone, am adding alok’s fb comment to abey’s comment on fb:

Alok Rodinhood Kejriwal There is nothing to be confused about. Dell wants to reach Startups and Entrepreneurs and TRH is one such channel. When they meet some of our select entrepreneurs, they will be able to craft offerings that they have planned and created to suit both Dell and Entrepreneur. Simple!”

i hope that makes things clear.

  10. Dell has been aggressively acquiring product companies (https://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/uscorp1/acquisitions) worldwide in the recent past as they intend to become a true “Global System Integrator” which they are today. Dell is also a market leader serving customers directly (named accounts only) & through their registered partners across the globe.

This is a good development ,rather a fantastic achievement by this vibrant community . Start-ups (with focus on enterprise customers) must leverage their reach to win together, replicating this partnership strategy with other companies like Cisco (doing great work in the IOT & Smart cities space) ,Microsoft & IBM would further enhance our visibility.

    Good luck folks….

  11. hey many thanks ram!!

  12. Always welcome Asha Garu 🙂

  13. Hi Asha,

I wanted to know how will the Dell Partnership help Rodinhoods like us? I mean is there any startup program being launched along with Dell to help startups get started with Technology or funding or goto market?

We at UserExperior technologies are looking for help on how do we go to market with our product, help from mentors for guiding in the right direction and funding

Can the partnership help us with the above and how?

    Thanks

    Vimlesh

  14. hi vimlesh,

it’s tech related. they want to reach out to startups and entrepreneurs via the community. and they will understand what tech solutions they can offer to help these select startups. we have proposed a Dell box on trh for rodinhooders to reach out to them directly with their tech issues/requirements which is in the pipeline.

also, we will have a tech advisor from their team for rodinhooders to reach out to on the site. this all will happen gradually.

coming back to what you are looking for – why don’t you create a post for a mentor? make a wishlist vimlesh – mention all the areas you need help in.

and i believe you shall be meeting alok soon?! am sure he’ll be able to guide you in certain areas. good luck!!

    🙂

  15. Hi Asha,

As Abey said, I am also not sure about, How is Dell going to Help Startups?

Since I have seen lot of these big fat elephants only bothered of avg billing. Whether its Microsoft, Adobe, Dell, HP or any other service provider. I have never seen anyone coming forward to help and support startup.

I would have been great if Dell could share some more light on what they offer for startup and what is their definition of startup. Is it bootstrap startup or is it funded startups like PayTM, PayU, etc etc.

Hence, please ask concern person to answer few of this questions :

    • How do they plan to support startup?
    • What kind of products or services they are offering for startup?
    • How is this product different then one being offered to other companies?
    • How do they ensure that the product and service offering for startup are at par?

Without these information its just another sales channel for them and I don’t see any benefit for startups.

    Regards,

    Amit

  16. amit,

pls read my replies to abey and vimlesh.

and although we are not associated with dell foundation, i think you should read articles on companies and how they help startups in india before shooting your mouth saying things like, “Since I have seen lot of these big fat elephants only bothered of avg billing. Whether its Microsoft, Adobe, Dell, HP or any other service provider. I have never seen anyone coming forward to help and support startup.”

  17. I am not shooting my mouth.. just trying to understand.. If someone from Dell could share some insight on this platform, would be little earlier. Specially in terms of what are their plan and offering.

I went through the article that you shared, it just talk about Dell foundation and its plan. But I am sure dell foundation is not going to fund everyone.

But as service provider then can, so just want to know what are their plan and offering.

    Regards,
    Amit
