Validating LinguaIndie-A language learning platform for Indian languages

  Hello Rodinhooder friends,

To begin with I will apologise for something that is placed as a link in this Ask note. Its a crude free website hosted on Wix. And given the expertise and hours people put in to develop and design great websites, mine is a novice looking one. Anyway, I would like to come straight to the point now. CultureAlley has been around for a while. However, I was struck by this idea without knowing about  them, only to know about them after analysing the T of SWOT.

logoLinguaIndie(https://linguaindie.tk) is a platform to learn, teach and earn(LTE) Indian languages. And its fast. You learn bassic stuff in a very quick time.I would like to highlight the following points about How it Works:

    • Its going to be a crowd sourced platform where Tutors and Learners meet.

    • Tutors are people who teach a language.Learners are the ones who wish to learn the language.

    • We are going to have learning sessions not exceeding 30 minutes and the entire language learning can be wrapped in 5 hours. We can teach a person to speak basic stuff and the script too in 5 hours.

    • The tutor is rated by learners and the pay is decided according to ratings.Initially, the pay is going to be uniform.

    • Our role is to prepare content for tutors. Given a tutor has access to content and directions prepared by us, he gets hooked up with a learner over a mobile call.Though the class proceeds mainly within the framework of our content but it gives a chance to learn by listening which is very essential while learning a new language.

    • Given greater mobile penetration as compared to data, the platform seems more viable. Data usage is restricted to downloading some slides that need to be shared between the tutor and learner.

    • The entire learning experience can create a webbed structure where a learner can be the tuor of another language and the tutor a learner. This social way of learning is engaging and wishes to thrive on a vibrant network of eager knowledge seekers.

So what do the Rodinhooders think about LinguaIndie.Kindly shed some light and your views on this thing.

I am going to add  some P.Ses here

  1. Personal opinion- I wouldn’t really pay to learn a new language considering the tons of good quality free courses that are available online.

  2. Hello Smit,

I understand your concern. The paying portion will come later when we more or less establish as a learning solution in the market for Language learning. Hence the service would be free for use at LinguaIndie. We would charge only when customers want to go beyond and learn a language in greater depth or for a certificate course. Hope that answers your concern

  3. Hi Anant,

I use Duolingo on iPhone and I have found it to be best language learning solution. Its totally free and also no ads. I dont know how they make money. But their app and program is the best I have ever experienced. I wish there would be such an app for major Indian languages too like its there for European languages. I wouldnt even mind paying for using Duolingo. Hope my text helps. Wish you all the best and also Indian languages online.

  4. Hello Abdul,

Duolingo is an awesome app and featured in the Best of best Android apps 2013. Also, it takes a game based approach and I am trying to get the same approach here too, though we are far from developing such a thing. Thanks for referring to this fun app.

Meanwhile, your request has been registered for Sindhi.Do check your mail.
